By Breaking Belize News Staff: A man has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison after being slapped with an additional charge of aggravated assault with a firearm stemming from an incident earlier this year in which he, his ex girlfriend and his baby mama were all charged.
Twenty-five-year-old Kevaun Evans, an environmental officer, was remanded to jail after being charged today with aggravated assault upon his ex-girlfriend in an incident which occurred in April of this year. He had initially been charged with wounding upon his ex, Rianna Robinson and had been granted bail at the time.
In the same incident, Robinson had been charged with damage to property against Evans’ baby’s mom, Sheran Lewis, who was also charged with wounding Robinson. Lewis pleaded not guilty to the charge and had been granted bail in the sum of $1,000.
Evans appeared unrepresented in court #4 today where he pleaded not guilty, however, due to the nature of the offence, bail could not be granted and he was remanded to jail until his next court appearance on August 24.
