By Aaron Humes: 20-year-old Arenal Tyrese Smith is headed to prison for six months after pleading guilty to keeping ammunition without having a gun license.
A family dispute on Friday led to police being called, and a search of the Dolphin Street residence unearthed four live rounds of separately branded nine-millimeter ammunition.
Smith, along with his mother and two sisters, were all brought before the court. As the head of the household the mother wanted to plead guilty to the charge but her son said the bullets were actually his and that he was sorry they were all before the court.
The Senior Magistrate spared Smith the maximum penalty for being a first-time offender and taking responsibility. He will serve six months imprisonment while the others were discharged.
