By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Beltraide Belize is conducting a 5-day business training for 26 participants including women-owned enterprises, under the Resilient Rural Belize (RRB) Project in Red Bank, Stann Creek.
The business advisors are transferring business development knowledge acquired from the Gender Entrepreneurship Together (GET Ahead) Training of Trainers Programme, which was offered by the International Labour Organization (ILO) during July 2023.
The participants are learning about gender inequality in starting and operating their own business, how to increase self-esteem and how to optimize their potential as women business owners, and how to create sustainable enterprises that can create jobs and a more resilient Belize.
These business development training support the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Fund Programme: Building a resilient Belize through universal, adaptive, and sustainable social protection.
This program also supports BELTRAIDEs overarching goal to support productive business activities, entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation, as well as the formalization and growth of micro, small, and medium-sized businesses.
