Belize’s Powerlifting Athletes bring home 41 medals!

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez:  Belize’s powerlifting athletes have returned home with 41 medals as they proudly represented the jewel at the North American Powerlifting Championships in the Cayman Islands.

Alida Wright Sharp passed her International Powerlifting Federation Category 2 Referee Practical exam. Sharp became the first Belizean international powerlifting referee.

Athletes from the Belize Powerlifting Association won gold, silver, and bronze medals.

The delegation included athletes from Kinetic Health and Fitness who also did exceptionally well.

Sixteen of the medals won by Team Belize were garnered by athletes of Kinetic Gym headed by coach Tom Tsai.

Minister of Sports, Rodwell Ferguson and Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Anthony Mahler have extended congratulations to all athletes.
