Honduran woman charged in connection with June murder of Wilmer Ordonez in Camalote

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have arrested a Honduran national in connection with the brutal murder of 25-year-old Wilmer Ordonez committed in Camalote Village back in June, 2023. 

Police say that 25-year-old Maria Guevara was formally arrested and charged with the crime of abetment to murder.  Ordonez was hit to the face with a shotgun then shot dead at close range, after he and Guevara got into a dispute on Sunday, June 18.

Guevara had left from in front of Ordonez’s farm and came back moments later on a motorcycle along with the man that shot Ordonez. The shooter also shot two women who were along with Ordonez at the time, one in the stomach and the other in the shoulder.  The shooter remains at large.
