By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: In July, Glenda Estrada was knocked down in a hit and run in Ladyville. At the time, she was pregnant and almost due to deliver her baby.
After she was knocked down, she was able to deliver the baby but remained paralyzed on the right side of her body.
She had been receiving treatment in Guatemala and sadly, on Monday afternoon, Estrada passed away.
Estrada’s husband, Nelson Pech, is calling for justice for his wife and children.
His 3 children including the newborn baby have been left without a mom and nobody has been charged for the hit and run.
“It’s a shock for me because I didn’t expect that. The bills in the hospital are high and I haven’t been working for almost the same time my wife got knocked and we haven’t gotten assistance or nothing from the person who did it,” Pech told 7news Belize.
Pech says that he reached out to the person who allegedly hit his wife but she denied it.
Anyone wishing to assist the family can contact Pech at 662-8856.
