By Aaron Humes: Charged in April for pointing a gun at and allegedly threatening a woman on the street in Belize City, on Wednesday Giovanni Lambey was allowed out free on bail with certain conditions.
Lambey was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and immediately placed on remand. Three months later, he was offered bail of $3,000 and surety. He was placed on curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily, until the case is disposed of; ordered to stay away from the virtual complainant and not interfere with her in any way; keep at least a hundred-yard distance from the virtual complainant; report to the Racoon Street Police Station every Friday effective Friday, August 18; and not contact any of the prosecution’s other witnesses in any form of social media platform including, WhatsApp, Twitter, Snapchat, and Facebook.
Lambey is expected to be tried on November 20. He is accused of accosting a female school warden on Caesar Ridge Road while on a bicycle, stopping in front of her and pulling out a firearm, and pointing it at her while allegedly saying, “Weh wrong with yuh.Yuh disrespect me right in front ah deh police. Yuh wah ah bus this in yuh face,” before riding off.
