By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Danny Jimenez blasted the lone goal of the game in the 87^th minute to give Benque Viejo United a 1-0 agonizing win over the Belmopan Bandits at the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen on Saturday night.

Benque Viejo United now have four points and find themselves in the fifth position behind Port Layola who have the same 1 win-1 draw-1 loss record. Port have the edge on goal difference.

Saturday’s win over the Bandits is a bounce back after dropping their previous game 1-0 to Altitude at home in Benque.

For their part, despite a renewed effort, Bandits are still struggling, bagging their second loss of the season, despite giving their fans hope last week with their 1-1 draw with champions Verdes. Their one-point record keeps them in last place where they languished in the 2022-23 Closing Season.
