Murder in Belize City: 15-year-old Nigel Ashton Ferguson Jr. found stabbed to death near abandoned house

By Breaking Belize News Staff: On the night of Sunday, August 20, 2023, Belize City police were called to a gruesome scene near Hunter’s Lane, where the lifeless body of a teenager was discovered near an abandoned house. The victim was identified as 15-year-old, Nigel Ashton Ferguson Jr.

According to initial investigations, Ferguson Jr. had left his home around 5:25 pm on that fateful day without informing anyone of his destination. His body was later found by his stepfather, who led the police through the bushes approximately 15 feet away from the street. The young victim was seen with multiple stab wounds to his body, a horrifying indication of a violent end.

Authorities processed the scene and photographed the evidence. The body was subsequently transported to KHMH where it was officially pronounced dead.

The community is in shock as they mourn the loss of such a young life, and the incident has raised concerns about safety in the area. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to this crime to come forward, as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Ferguson Jr.’s death.
