By Rubén Morales Iglesias: After the good season they had last championship in the Premier League of Belize, both Port Layola and Progresso have started the 2023-24 Opening Season struggling. They clashed at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk on Saturday with Progresso sporting a win and a loss and Port holding a draw and a loss.
At the end of the match, Progresso’s ex-coach Charlie Slusher left with three points in the bag for Belize City’s Port Layola from a 2-0 win.

Port went into the game with one point in seventh position and came out fourth with four points. Progresso for their part dropped from third to sixth remaining with the three points they went into the game.
