By Aaron Humes: Ladyville resident, Charles West, must stand trial for attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and wounding after a stabbing incident in Ladyville back in November 2022.
West was committed to trial in the High Court following a preliminary inquiry. He is accused of attempting to kill Keith Nicholson and wounding William Taibo during a stabbing incident on November 3, 2022, in the Ladyville area.
West will be tried at the October session of the High Court set to commence on October 2, 2023.
He was offered bail in the sum of $10,000 plus two sureties of $5,000 each with conditions in which he must report to the Ladyville Police Station twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; he must also not interfere with the virtual complainants or any of their family members through any of the social media platforms and he must stay 100 yards from their home, work or places they frequent. He must also not be arrested and charged with any other offenses while out on bail or his bail could be revoked.
As of Monday, West was still behind bars awaiting making bail.
