Fisherman convicted of pipe possession admits it’s hard to get off drugs

By Aaron Humes: Tigris Street fisherman Oscar Estephan Mauricio, 23, pleaded guilty to possessing a pipe used for smoking crack cocaine.

He was busted on August 24 at the corner of Baghdad and Mosul Streets with a chrome metal pipe measuring 5.4 inches.

In court, he told the Senior Magistrate, “It is pretty hard to get off it,” referring to the drugs. This is Mauricio’s second conviction for drug offenses.

The Senior Magistrate imposed a fine of $300 and cost of court due by November 30, in default 3 months imprisonment.
