BDF soldier who went viral last November for unruly behaviour in police custody has trial date set

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Freddy Grijalva, the BDF soldier who went viral last November after an outburst at the Queen Street Police station while he was allegedly intoxicated and was charged, appeared in court today where he was handed his full disclosure for his case and had a date set for his trial.

Grijalva appeared unrepresented in court today where he was presented with 23 pages of disclosure along with a DVD of evidence that will be used against him. His trial date was set for October 24.

In November 2022, he was charged with twо соuntѕ оf аѕѕаultіng а роlісе оffісеr, оnе соunt оf uѕіng thrеаtеnіng wоrdѕ, оnе соunt оf іnѕultіng wоrdѕ, оnе соunt оf uѕіng оbѕсеnе lаnguаgе, аnd оnе соunt оf dіѕоrdеrlу соnduсt.
