By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The British High Commission in Belize announced that 5 Belizeans have been awarded Chevening scholarships.
Chevening is the UK government’s international scholarships programme.
It is funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and partner organisations and offers awards to study in the UK for one year on a fully funded master’s degree course.
Dr. Joshua Canul, Josue Ramos, Marita Mejia, Christie Garbutt and Alexander Evans will pursue Master degree program in their respective areas of study.
Dr. Canul has been awarded a scholarship opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree in Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (AIED) at the University College London.
Ramos will pursue a Master’s degree in Archaeology at Glasgow University, Scotland.
Marita will pursue a Master’s in Special Educational Needs and Inclusion at the University of Northampton.
Christie will be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Change at the University of Durham.
Evans set to pursue his MA in Composition of Music for Film and Television.
