By Breaking Belize News Staff: John Briceño, the Prime Minister of Belize, celebrated the groundbreaking of one of the newest additions to Belize’s luxury tourism portfolio – The Four Seasons Resort and Residences on Caye Chapel. This landmark project is not just a testament to the growing appeal of Belize as a high-end tourist destination, but also a signal of strong confidence by both local and international investors in the country’s tourism sector.

Briceño took to social media, emphasizing the significance of this investment: “There’s confidence in Belize 🇧🇿 by local and foreign investors.” He highlighted that the first phase of this grand project embodies a foreign direct investment of US$200 million.

The global pandemic had halted travel worldwide, with Belize’s tourism sector taking a hit like many others. However, the country has seen a resurgence in visitors lately, nearing the numbers seen before the onset of COVID-19. Briceño added, “Tourism has rebounded and we’re on our way to realizing pre-COVID-19 arrivals.”

The Four Seasons project is anticipated to elevate Belize’s standing in the global tourism industry. With its commitment to luxury, the resort aims to cater to tourists seeking a more refined and high-end experience. Once completed, this new venture is set to propel the Belize tourism sector even further, capitalizing on the unique blend of nature, culture, and luxury that Belize offers.
