By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) forecasters are monitoring a newly-formed tropical depression in the central tropical Atlantic.
Tropical depression 13 is forecast to become powerful hurricane Lee by the end of this week.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
The depression is forecast to be a hurricane in a couple of days and could become a major hurricane in a few days.
Elsewhere, weather experts are monitoring AL95 which is an area of low pressure located about midway between western Africa and the Windward Islands.
It has become better organized overnight. This system could also strengthen to a hurricane later this week.
This system has a 100% chance of formation through the next 7 days.
Another tropical wave near the coast of West Africa is producing a large area of cloudiness and showers.
A tropical depression could form over the far eastern tropical Atlantic during the middle to latter part of the week while the system moves west-northwest at 10 to 15 mph.
This system has a 70% chance of formation through the next 7 days.
The remnants of Franklin are also lingering north of the Azores, and is forecast to move quickly southeastward towards warmer waters east of the Azores.
This system has a low chance of formation through the next 7 days.
