By Breaking Belize News Staff: A man accused of an armed robbery in Belize City which only got him $82 in cash and cost him his time and freedom, has been remanded to jail following his arraignment in court today.
Darnell Martinez, 24, of an Antelope Street Extension address appeared in court unrepresented and was read a single charge of robbery. He pleaded guilty but due to the nature of the offense he was not offered bail and was remanded to prison.
According to police reports, Martinez is the alleged robber who held up a gas station attendant located in Lindo’s Alley on August 25. The attendant reported to police that he was approached by a man with a gun who demanded money so he complied. Police later reviewed surveillance footage from the gas station and identified Martinez.
