United Kingdom’s Foreign Minister David Rutley MP tours Coastal Plain Highway

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’s Minister for the Americas and the Caribbean, David Rutley MP is in Belize.

Today, Rutley toured the recently completed Coastal Plain Highway. This tour was his final stop on this official visit.

Minister Rutley was joined by Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development & Investment; Chris Coye, Dr Osmond Martinez, CEO of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment; Evondale Moody, the Chief Engineer in the Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing (MIDH), and other key officials of MIDH.

During his tour, Rutley observed some of the Coastal Highway’s climate resilience features.

Minister Rutley also spoke with the chairpersons of Gales Point Manatee and Mullins River, who explained that the upgraded highway has had a massive positive impact on their communities.
