By Breaking Belize News Staff: In an announcement that brings good news for Belizean households and businesses, the Supplies Control Unit (SCU) under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise, has stated that Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will have new controlled prices effective September 8th, 2023.
The new price structure will cover sales by wholesale volume as well as retail sales in both urban and rural regions of the country. A unified price has been set for the import wholesale across all districts at BZ$3.55 per gallon.
Import Wholesale Prices (Per Gallon):
On the retail front, the price per pound in all urban areas remains consistent at BZ$1.18, translating to BZ$5.15 per gallon.
Retail Prices:
This adjustment showcases a drop of BZ$0.16 per gallon from previous rates, a result of a reduction in the acquisition price of both butane and propane.
Citizens should be informed that the rates established for imported LPG strictly adhere to the Belize National Standard Specification for LPG (70% Propane and 30% Butane) as per BZS 21:2012 standards.
For any further queries or information regarding the new pricing, the public can reach out to the Supplies Control Unit at 828-5018, 828-5090, or drop an email to [email protected].
