“Nine” recovered at Marion Jones

By Aaron Humes: A loaded Glock 9-millimeter firearm was recovered inside the Marion Jones Stadium earlier this morning by police.

Around 3:30 a.m. police visited an area by one of the bars inside the Marion Jones compound where the Street Fete is being hosted. A transparent zip lock bag was found submerged in water with what appeared to be a firearm inside. It was then retrieved from the water.

Police could not locate whoever owned the weapon at the time and are now holding it as found property.

Further inspection of the firearm revealed that it was a Glock 19 serial number BEX060 with a magazine containing 15 live rounds of ammunition.

Checks will be made to see if the firearm is licensed.
