The talented Marlyn Vansen wins the Belize National Song Competition with the song “B E L I Z E”

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On September 15, 2023, the Belize National Song Competition was held at The Bliss Center.

The event showcased the 8 finalists competing for the top prize.

Marlyn Vansen was victorious in winning the $20,000 grand prize for their song “B E L I Z E.”

Minister of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology and Chairman of the National Celebrations Committee, Francis Fonseca extended congratulations to Vansen.

“Congratulations to Marlyn Vansen on earning the title of National Song Competition 2023 Champion taking home the grand prize of $20,000.

Her performance was energetic and inspiring and her song lyrics were meaningful and uplifting,” Fonseca expressed.

Fonseca thanked all finalists for their strong performances and amazing creativity. 

“It’s encouraging to see the quality and standards of our musical performances grow and improve.

Big respect to all the artists who participated in the National Song Competition,” Fonseca added.
