By Horace Palacio: Images of two tiny mummified bodies that were shared worldwide last week have ignited a firestorm of debate on the Internet.
Jaime Maussan, a renowned Mexican journalist with a penchant for UFOs, considers these alien-like entities a landmark discovery in human history. However, a significant portion of the scientific community decries them as a possible scam.
Maussan, drawing global eyes, recently presented these figures to Mexico’s Congress. He showcased scientific analyses he believes evidence these bodies are roughly a millennium old, bearing no links to any recognized terrestrial species.
While the bodies seem ancient and have human-like features, Maussan asserts they were uncovered in Peru around 2017. Speaking passionately about their significance, he stated, “It’s a monumental occasion for human evolution, potentially ushering in an era of interstellar communication. This phenomenon could be the catalyst for global unity.”
However, scientists and archaeologists in Peru have been quick to denounce the discovery as a charade.
Cassandra Garrison, a correspondent for Reuters, shared insights from her conversation with Maussan: “He disclosed that the scientific findings he’s been touting were from a separate body in Peru, not the ones he revealed in Mexico. He stated he refrained from testing the Mexican specimens to preserve them. However, when we had independent scientists evaluate his claims, they found nothing extraordinary—just signs of typical earthly life.”
Maussan’s involvement in a 2017 documentary showcasing seemingly manipulated mummies further muddies his credibility.
The origin of these bodies and their mysterious journey from Peru to Mexico remains shrouded in mystery. Maussan claims a man brought these relics to Mexico, after which he sought permission to exhibit them before Congress.
Yet, this act has provoked Peruvian authorities, resulting in a criminal case filed against Maussan. Defiant, Maussan insists he hasn’t overstepped any legal boundaries and openly invites the Peruvian government to assess the figures.
