By Horace Palacio: The US National Hurricane Center (NHC) has issued a statement indicating that a tropical wave is expected to move off the west coast of Africa by Wednesday. Following this movement, there is potential for the wave to gradually develop. There’s a possibility that a tropical depression may form late this week or by the next weekend as the system traverses westward across the eastern tropical Atlantic.
As of now, the disturbance remains at a low threat level with a 0% chance of formation within the next 48 hours. However, as the week progresses, the chances of it developing into a more significant system increase, with the NHC giving it a medium 40% probability of formation over the next seven days.
The NHC will continue to monitor the system closely and will provide updates as necessary. Residents in potential impact areas are advised to stay informed and prepare for any potential tropical activity.
