San Ignacio mourns passing of Kaver Smith; driver served with Notice of Intended Prosecution

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The San Ignacio community is mourning the death of 24-year-old Kaver Smith.

Family and friends have taken to social media to extend their sympathies on his death.

Kaver’s mom said that she is heartbroken as she lost her firstborn and her only son.

“My heart is broken. I am shattered. My first born my only son gained his wings yesterday. Even though it hurts me to the core to God I give all glory. Rest in perfect peace my son. You know that mommy love you and I know you loved me enough to just gone so easy without even giving me a sign,” Carla Smith said on Facebook.

Kaver was the victim of a horrible road traffic accident on June 17 on Buena Vista Street in San Ignacio.

He was severely injured and swiftly transferred to the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan, before being admitted to the ICU in Belize City.

Smith remained at the KHMH, enduring a battle for his life until his passing.

The accused driver involved in the accident, Wayne Henry has since been served a notice of intended prosecution by San Ignacio police.
