Patriotism flourishes at Belize’s 42nd Independence anniversary celebration

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On September 21, 2023, Belizeans celebrated Belize’s 42^nd Independence anniversary honoring the country’s growth and developments, our cultures, and our talents.

In parades across the country, businesses, students, sports enthusiasts, members of the Belize Police Department, the Belize Coast Guard, and the Belize Defence Force proudly displayed their patriotism and love for Belize.

Political leaders emphasized the importance of national unity and the advancements of our communities and country.

The amazing captures of the Belmopan Parade included a model of one of the many projects of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) as well as a beautiful bird model by the Belize Bird Rescue among others.

In San Ignacio and Santa Elena, Wateva boys demonstrated their talents with a football-topped float and a canoe.

The beautiful Queens greeted everyone and the police cadets demonstrated their training.
