Mayor of San Ignacio and Santa Elena appeals to public to keep spaces clean following increased cases of dengue

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Mayor of San Ignacio and Santa Elena, Earl Trapp is appealing to the public to keep their spaces clean following an increase in cases of dengue.

“It is real and can cause fatalities! You can play an important role in preventing dengue by searching and destroying mosquito breeding places like bushy yards, old tyres, drums, cans, and other containers that collect and make water stagnant,” Trapp said.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness also urges everyone to lower your risk of getting Dengue from mosquito bites by eliminating mosquito breeding sites like vases and flower pots that can have water settled for long periods.
