Ministry of Education approves almost $12 million in education grants for students across Belize

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology continues to receive and approve requests for financial assistance for education from students across Belize.

Data from the Ministry indicate that since the beginning of 2023, the Ministry has processed 17,984 requests and paid out BZ $11,349,440 million in grants for educational assistance, more than ever before.

“The mission of #YourMoECST is to ensure that all Belizeans, regardless of their backgrounds, are given the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for their own personal development and for full and active participation in the development of our Jewel. Financial assistance is just one of the many ways through which we work to achieve this mission,” the Ministry noted.

The data from the Ministry also showed that for the years 2022 and 2023, there was an increase in approvals for educational assistance.

“This is how we make education WORK for Belize,” the Ministry added.
