Deputy Prime Minister Cordel Hyde hopeful Mayor Wagner and Allan Pollard remain on PUP slate

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Deputy Prime Minister, Cordel Hyde has said that he is hopeful that both Mayor Bernard Wagner and Councilor Allan Pollard will remain on the PUP slate.

However, Pollard applied to the PUP to contest the Mayoral seat in Belize City and Mayor Wagner has publicly declared that he would walk away if the party decides to take it to a convention.

“We spoke to multiple admiral candidates we’ve have multiple conversations and I think we’re pretty close to making a public announcement as to what’s the direction ultimately we want both of these guys on the slate they are heavy weights and we need to get both of them on the slates so I think if we can get two for the price of one that’s very beautiful thing and they deserve to be there so we are trying to finalize that and we should have an announcement pretty pretty soon,” Hyde said.

In addition, Hyde said that the number of applications to Mayoral and councilor seats throughout Belize reveals that the PUP is popular.
