Cooperativa El Progreso de Valle De Paz and Canaan Livestock Association explore cooperative management practices

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On September 28, 2023, a 1-day exchange program was conducted at Cooperativa El Progreso de Valle De Paz with the members of Canaan Livestock Association of Waterhole area in Benque.

The program was facilitated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise.

The objective of the program was to showcase how cooperative contribute to its members including direct member benefits such as access to consumers services, access to micro loans and the governance system the cooperative has adopted and proof of generating substantial economic and social results.

Canaan Association’s objective is to look at how the cooperative masters their management and governance system and the returns to its members.

Participants also explored how the association members can adopt these strategies for their overall improvement.
