International News: Hitmen storm hospital in Sinaloa and kill 4 people including doctor

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Thursday, armed gunmen stormed a hospital in Culiacan, Sinaloa to carry out a hit.

According to the Associated Press, rival gunmen already inside the hospital responded with fire and the 4 people killed were caught in the crossfire.

Police officials said that the doctor was killed in the exchange of fire, as apparent “collateral damage.”

The police confirmed that both groups were “criminals.”

Sinaloa state is home to a drug cartel of the same name.

Attacks by drug cartel gunmen on ambulances and hospitals while hunting down wounded rivals have been a persistent issue in Mexico.
