International News: Amidst record-high migrant crossings, Mexican President urges U.S. to assist Latin America more

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador criticized the United States spending on Ukraine calling it “irrational,” Reuters report.

In addition, the Mexican President urged the U.S. to devote more resources to helping Latin American countries.

Amidst rising numbers of migrant crossings at the U.S.- Mexico border, Lopez Obrador continues to call on the U.S. to commit more funds to support economic development in Central America and the Caribbean in order to ease migratory pressures.

Data showed that illegal border crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border reached a record high with Border patrol apprehensions at more than 200,000 in September.
