Belize dominates Conde Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Awards for Top Resorts in Central America

By Aaron Humes: A “thrilled” Belize Hotel Association (BHA) beat its chest for the collective tourism industry in Belize on the occasion of the announcement of Reader’s Choice Awards 2023 by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine.

Nine of the top 20 resorts in Central America are located in Belize, including several old favorites.

Top-ranked is San Pedro’s Alaia Belize in fifth overall, followed by Hopkins’ Hamanasi Resort in sixth; Victoria House on Ambergris Caye in ninth; Sirenian Bay, Placencia, 12th; Gaia River Lodge, Mountain Pine Ridge, Cayo District, 14th; Turneffe Island Resort, 15th; Coco Plum Resort in Dangriga, 16th; Mata Chica Resort, Ambergris Caye, 17th; and Cayo Espanto Island Resort, 19th.

The Association wrote, “Your dedication to providing unforgettable experiences has not gone unnoticed. We’re incredibly proud of each and every one of you. Here’s to even more amazing adventures and memories in the years to come!”
