By Breaking Belize News Staff: A trio, who was charged in May 2022 with handling a police officer’s stolen laptop, defended themselves in court successfully and were free to go today after beating the charge.
Clarence Thompson; Christian Ayala and Robert Hernandez were charged with handling stolen goods after they were allegedly caught with a $1,400 laptop belonging to a police officer.
The men closed their case today and after listening to the facts, the Magistrate said she had doubts and based on her doubts, she found them not guilty.
According to police, the officer who was on duty at Celebrity restaurant and left his laptop inside his truck. Later when he came back, he saw the light on in his truck and his window down then saw a Cadillac speed off. The officer says he later found the laptop in the Cadillac and the trio of men were later arrested in connection following an investigation.
