Man charged for slapping 13-year-old girl’s butt and smiling at her

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A man who recently turned 18 years old was charged in court today and released on bail after allegedly slapping a 13-year-old girl on her butt in public and allegedly smiling at her after doing the deed.

Frank Robert Vasquez, who turned 18 in April, appeared unrepresented in court and was charged with sexual assault. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 plus one surety of the same amount, which he met.

He must check in at the Queen Street police station once a week and is not to interfere with the virtual complainant or any of her family members. He must also keep 100 yards away from her.

According to police, the minor reported that on October 5, while she was in her school uniform, walking with a group of friends, they stopped to buy ice cream and that’s when she felt someone slap her on her buttocks. When she turned around, she allegedly saw Vasquez who then smiled at her.
