“Falsified Tylenol” found and removed from supermarkets by Ministry of Health

By Aaron Humes: The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) advises the public that falsified Tylenol has been discovered at various supermarkets across the country.

Tylenol is the commercial brand name for the drug known as paracetamol or acetaminophen, manufactured by McNeil Consumer Healthcare, part of Kenvue Incorporated, formerly the Consumer Healthcare division of Johnson & Johnson. It is used to reduce pain, reduce fever, and relieve the symptoms of allergies, cold, cough, headache, and influenza.

According to the Ministry, the batch number is GS13790, expiring in March of 2024. It has already begun removing the products where found but advises the public to become familiar with the presentation of the medication.

The public is recommended not to purchase or consume this medicine, and obtain proper Tylenol or similar medications only from authorized distributors or health facilities licensed by the Ministry. Earlier this year, Tylenol was one of the drugs approved as over-the-counter medication for which a prescription is not needed from a hospital or clinic.

The Ministry also requests the cooperation of all merchants and wholesalers who currently have this medication in stock. Please contact the ministry to arrange removal.
