Woman is charged with wounding a police officer she is accused of attacking during a detention inside a club over the weekend

By Aaron Humes: Police have charged a pair of in-laws with attacking and obstructing a police officer during an incident in a nightclub.

26-year-old Maureen Rhaburn and 28-year-old Lincey Lopez were separately charged with wounding and obstructing a police officer.

Rhaburn is accused of wounding Police Sergeant Tian Smith while Lopez was accused of standing in front of Rhaburn while the officer attempted to detain her, thus obstructing him while about his lawful police duties.

Each pleaded not guilty and was offered and met bail of $1,000 and surety. They return to court on December 14.

Sergeant Smith was on duty when he was requested to assist with escorting a female seen to be behaving disorderly in the nightclub, later identified as Rhaburn. He approached her and began escorting her aside, leading her to allegedly punch him in the face and then stab at him with what appeared to be a screwdriver.

He raised his hands to block her but she stabbed him in the face and upper shoulder and damaging his police uniform shirt, while her brother-in-law later identified as Lopez tried to intervene.
