Belize participates in SERVIR Global forest monitoring training

SERVIR Global is a NASA and USAID partnership that supports locally led efforts to strengthen climate resilience, food and water security, forest and carbon management, and air quality.

The training is being held in collaboration with the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change & Disaster Risk Management.

“We are excited to include Belize in this flagship program and support the Belize Forest Department’s critical work to update the national forest data management and monitoring system,” U.S. Ambassador to Belize, Michelle Kwan said.

“Belize is recognized for its commitment to preserving its rich ecosystems. Its forests play a crucial role in combatting climate change and supplying the oxygen we all need to breathe. #WeStandWithBelize, supporting local initiatives to conserve biodiversity and address the climate crisis head-on,” the U.S. Embassy in Belize noted.
