Three-year-old girl shot dead in father’s arms in San Pedro mass killing

By Aaron Humes: Three-year-old Amari Rodriguez was pronounced dead this morning at the San Pedro Polyclinic after being shot while in her father’s arms on their way home late Sunday night.

According to Karla Cordova, 21, she and her common-law husband Delmar Rodriguez, 25, and others were heading home when they were ambushed by gunfire from an area of mangroves near the lagoon in San Pedrito.

Delmar Rodriguez died almost immediately from his injuries after falling off the cart while Amari was rushed to the San Pedro Polyclinic where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Also killed was passenger Carlos Chi while four other men were wounded.

Police investigation continues and two persons are being sought.
