Belize now winning 4-0 over Turks and Caicos in Concacaf Women’s Nations League in Turks and Caicos Islands

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize are beating Turks and Caicos Islands 4-0 in the Concacaf Women’s Nations League C at Turks and Caicos as captain Sabrina Eiley shook the net in the 54th minute. A little earlier in the 49th Shamika Lambey had netted the third goal.

The Belize Women’s National Football Team (BWNT) led 2-0 at the half after Khalydia Velasquez hammered Belize’s second goal from open play in the 36th minute.

Mikhaila Bowden scored the opener in the 11th minute from open play after missing a penalty kick. Bowden’s penalty shot was saved by TCI goalkeeper Eradannia Ortiz, but Belize scoring defender made good on the subsequent play.

Belize gained the penalty kick after Chanile Butterfield cut down Velasquez in the penalty box in the 10th minute.

Both Velasquez and Bowden now have three goals in the regional competition.

Belize has been on a constant attack against the homestanding Turks and Caicos Islands National Team in the hunt for a third victory in Group A with the distinct goal of getting promoted to League B.

The match is being played at the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association National Academy in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, under the watchful eye of referee Danielle Chesky of the United States.

Coach Wayne Casimiro’s starting 11 comprises Jasmin Armstrong (1) in goal; Shadette Lino (3), Mikhaila Bowden (4), Shamika Lambey (15), and Vailene Lambert in defence; Ashley Rodriguez (6), captain Sabrina Eiley (8), Roshanny Narvaez (9), and Jennisha Scott (18) in midfield, and Khalydia Velasquez (10) and Tamara Baptist(14) as forwards.
