Orange Walk Town Council “Lights up Blue” in recognition of World Children’s Day

Posted: Thursday, November 2, 2023. 10:06 am CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Every year, World Children’s Day is recognized on November 20.

World Children’s Day offers an inspirational entry-point to advocate, promote and celebrate children’s rights, translating into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for children.

Last night, Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children Rossana Briceno joined the Orange Walk Town Council for the  “Light Up Blue” Ceremony for World Children’s Day.

The day will be celebrated under the theme, “Children’s Rights. Our Responsibility: Celebrating Diversity and Advocating for Every Child”.

“The Orange Walk Town Council did a fantastic job hosting this event and bringing awareness to this year’s theme of celebrating diversity and advocating for every child in Belize,” the Special Envoy said.

“Let’s ensure their rights are protected and show our support by wearing the color blue every Friday of this month,” Briceno urged.
