Belize Weather: Rain, rain, going away

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service forecast for today is for cloudy skies with sunny breaks. Tonight, skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy. Periods of rain along with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to affect the country but especially over southern and some coastal areas today. Tonight, shower activity will be generally isolated except for the south where a few showers and isolated thunderstorms can be expected.

Average temperatures forecast today will be 83 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 86 degrees inland and 71 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 76 degrees along the coast, 72 degrees inland and 66 degrees in the hills.

Winds will be northeasterly at five to 15 knots, and sea state moderate. A small craft caution is in effect for occasionally gusty winds and locally rough seas. An excessive rainfall warning is in effect as excessive rainfall has been reported in portions of central and southern Belize and this is expected to continue today and tonight.

Tides will be low at 12:39 this afternoon and high at 6:40 this evening. The sun sets at 5:18 this evening and rises at 5:53 Wednesday morning.

Outlook for Wednesday and Wednesday night is for cloudy intervals with a few morning showers and isolated thunderstorms to develop over the south, elsewhere little to no rainfall is expected.
