Chinese businessman makes false report about his vehicle being stolen

Posted: Tuesday, November 7, 2023. 10:50 am CST.

By Aaron Humes: A Chinese businessman admitted to falsely telling police his 2015 Nissan Morano was stolen.

31-year-old Jian Kun Huang of Blue Marlin Drive reported the vehicle stolen on October 2, to a value of $11,000, claiming the incident had happened on September 29. Police began investigating and quickly traced the vehicle to one Marlon Alvarez on West Collet Canal, but he was able to prove that the vehicle had properly been transferred into his name, while Huang had a traffic ticket in his name from the time when he owned the vehicle.

Caught out, Huang confessed and was charged with committing a mischievous act. Today, he pleaded guilty and was fined $175 and cost of court due by November 30, in default six weeks imprisonment.
