International News: Hundreds join queue to visit El Salvador’s new Binaes National Library

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On November 14, 2023, President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele inaugurated a new state-of-the-art National Library (Binaes).

Since then, hundreds of Salvadorans and visitors from around the world have been joining the queue to enter Binaes and explore its reading, technological and café spaces.

The 24,000-square-meter National Library boasts unique learning centers specifically designed for infants, teens and adults with interactive activities and the use of tables, laptops and colorful reading spaces.

The Salvadoran National Library is the most modern library in the region with more than 360,000 books.

The National Library also features space for early childhood reading, nursing, themed game rooms and virtual reality technological spaces.

It also features flight and medical simulators, robotics, resin printers and 3D scanners.

The new National Library will be open 24 hours a day.

President Bukele commented that Salvadorans and visitors can enjoy reading and promote reading at the National Library located in the historic center.

“The fact that we live in a safe country, where there is basically no unsafe place, throughout the territory, people can come whenever they want. Come at dawn, stay here at 3:00 in the morning without any problem,” Bukele expressed.

Tourists from around the globe, including visitors for the prestigious Miss Universe pageant, are exploring El Salvador following the transformation by President Bukele and his administration.
