Taiwan Expo in Belize City featured more than 20 Taiwanese enterprises

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On November 15, 2023, Taiwan Ambassador to Belize Lily Li-Wen Hsu and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) warmly welcomed over 60 esteemed guests at the opening ceremony of the Taiwan Expo 2023.

The event was held from November 15 to November 17 at Caribbean Motors in Belize City.

Invited guests included Foreign Minister Eamon Courtenay, Education Minister Francis Fonseca, Agriculture Minister José Mai, Health Minister Kevin Bernard, Minister of State of Sustainable Development Ramón Cervantes, Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Stuart Leslie, Dr. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition, along with members of National Assembly, Diplomatic and Consular Corps, local media, businesses, and Taiwanese community.

The Expo showcased more than 20 Taiwanese businesses’ latest products, many of which enjoy preferential tariff due to the Taiwan Belize Economic Cooperation Agreement.

The event served as a platform to enhance trade relations and bring opportunities to forge further collaboration between the two nations.

The Taiwan Embassy says that it seeks to deepen the bilateral economic cooperation between Taiwan and Belize.
