By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Government of Switzerland will reportedly pass a new law by the end of February to ban any “Hamas activities” or “support” for the Palestinian group, EuroNews reports.
Recently, the Swiss Federal Council designated Hamas as a “terrorist organization.”
The Government of Switzerland considers its new policy the “most appropriate response” to the events that have been unfolding in the Middle East since Hamas’ unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7.
In addition, Switzerland will terminate contracts with 3 Palestinian NGOs.
The Swiss Government has also called for “respect for international humanitarian law and in particular the protection of civilians” stressing the need for humanitarian pauses “to ensure unimpeded humanitarian access”.
