By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Agriculture (MAFSE) on Thursday held a Climate Smart Agriculture workshop for 30 members of the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) staff at the University of Belize Belmopan Campus.
Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) is a set of practices that aim to increase the resilience and productivity of agricultural systems in the face of climate change.
MAFSE officers Miguel Balan and William Can conducted the training session.
MAFSE said The DFC is a key partner in the upcoming Climate Resilient and Sustainable Agriculture Project (CRESAP) Project, which will support climate resilient development projects in Belize with the help of the Social Investment Fund (SIF), the World Bank (WB) and other stakeholders.
The training was intended to familiarize the DFC staff with the principles and benefits of Climate Smart Agriculture, as well as the potential opportunities and challenges for its implementation.
