‘No apologies:’ Ministry of Infrastructure Development says it will continue to build access roads for new homeowners

Posted: Sunday, November 26, 2023. 11:02 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) says it is not shying away from complaints over its building access roads for new homeowners, as it is accused of doing by the Opposition United Democratic Party and its newspaper organ, The Guardian.

“We state, without apology, that we continue to build access roads for deserving Belizeans who would not otherwise be able to access their house, or utilities. We are about providing opportunities for Belizeans. NO APOLOGIES,” the Ministry wrote on social media on Friday.

It further made reference to the former Minister of Works’ charges of undue influence for which he will stand trial claiming that “during the last administration the most work done by the then MOW was on the UDP Minister’s private farm. We don’t subscribe to corruption.”
