Belizeans returning from U.S. can bring in their ham and turkey this Christmas

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez:Belizeans returning from the United States this Christmas can bring with them, their ham and turkey.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise has agreed that commencing December 1, 2023 and up to December 30, 2023, Belizean families entering through the Philip Goldson International Airport will be allowed to bring 1 ham and 1 turkey per family. This decision was communicated to the BAHA management, main contacts in the Diaspora as well as the Ministry of Diaspora Relations.

They will be allowed to bring their ham and turkey without need for a permit from the Ministry or from BAHA. 

However, the ham and turkey must be USDA certified.
