Culprit shot security guard after he refused to hand over firearm

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred just after 8 last night in San Ignacio.

According to reports, security guard Kenrick Nunez was on duty at B&J Grocery Store when a man approached him.

The culprit reportedly demanded Nunez’ firearm and attempted to steal it.

A struggle ensued between them and the culprit shot Nunez in his abdomen.

Nunez was admitted to the Western Regional Hospital and is listed as being in stable condition.

Investigations continue.
