By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Women’s National Team Captain Sabrina Eiley said she was filled with “immense pride and gratitude” as she addressed Belize in a press conference set up by the Football Federation of Belize on Wednesday in Belmopan after the BWNT returned from Aruba.

The BWNT qualified for Concacaf League B winning all their six matches in League C Group An over Sruba, Bonaire and Turks and Caico Islands.

“Our journey through the Gold Cup qualifiers has been nothing short of remarkable,” Captain Eiely said.

“There were challenges, triumphs and unwavering decisions. Our collective goal was clear, to be promoted to League B by topping League C Group A. Every player, coach, staff member poured their heart and soul into this mission.

Eiley recognized that the challenge wasn’t an easy task.

“We faced formidable opponents, navigated tough matches, but through it all, our unity and determination prevailed,” Eiley said.

“There is no I in team but there is in win. This embodies the spirit of our incredible squad. Each player, each staff member contributes a piece to the puzzle, creating a picture of resilience, passion, and success. I extend my deepest thanks to our exceptional coaching staff, whose guidance and expertise were the compass steering us through the complexities of the game.”

Captain Eiley also thanked the Football Federation of Belize for their support.

“The Federation of Belize has been an unwavering pillar of support, ensuring we were prepared and equipped to face every challenge head on,” Eiley said.

“To our families, friends and supporters, near and far, your cheers, encouragement and belief in us have been our driving force. In moments of fatigue and uncertainty, it was your unwavering support that fueled our determination. Together we achieved something extraordinary. The promotion to League B is not just a victory for us, but a testament to the collective spirit of Belizean football.’

But as much as the achievement is theirs, Eiley said the triumph belongs to all of Belize.

“As we celebrate this momentous achievement, let us remember that it’s a win for each and everyone of you who has been part of our journey,” Captain Eiley said.

“As we progress through to our journey in League B, I call upon each of you to continue supporting us. Your presence, whether in the stands or in spirit, makes a difference. Together, let’s continue to create history one match at a time. Thank you, Belize, for standing by us. This triumph is yours as much as it ours. Thank you.”
